As the Director of Housekeeping, you will lead the daily operations of Housekeeping, Public Areas, Laundry, and, where applicable, Recreation/Health Club areas. You will ensure all guest rooms, public spaces, and employee areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation. This role plays a critical part in guest satisfaction, operational excellence, and the financial performance of the property.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of Housekeeping and related departments

  • Lead and motivate teams to deliver consistent, world-class cleanliness and presentation

  • Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas

  • Monitor and manage inventory, linen supplies, equipment, and housekeeping resources

  • Communicate room status updates effectively to Front Office and other departments

  • Supervise compliance with brand and operational standards

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and training of housekeeping staff

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and encourage a culture of accountability and recognition

  • Drive initiatives to improve guest satisfaction and implement service recovery plans

  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and cleanliness regulations

  • Ensure budget adherence and support operational cost efficiencies

About You

  • Proven experience in housekeeping leadership, ideally within a luxury hospitality setting

  • High school diploma or equivalent; degree in Hospitality or Business is a plus

  • Strong people management and team development skills

  • Highly detail-oriented with a passion for maintaining the highest standards

  • Skilled in inventory control, operational planning, and guest satisfaction metrics

  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities

  • Able to multitask and lead under pressure in a dynamic environment

  • Familiar with hotel systems, SOPs, and luxury service standards (e.g., Forbes or LQA)
