We are looking for an International Trader for a fast-growing FMCG company based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a French-speaking market portfolio and build long-term commercial relationships across France, Belgium, Switzerland, and other Francophone regions. The role is ideal for a driven commercial professional who thrives in international trade, negotiation, and business development.

Our client is a fast-growing FMCG trading company that works with a diverse network of customers across Europe and beyond. The company helps leading consumer brands reach markets outside their usual distribution channels through tailored supply-chain and commercial solutions across personal care, household products, and food and beverage categories.

What will you do?

  • Continuously analyze French-speaking markets and identify new business opportunities across France, Belgium, Switzerland, and other Francophone regions.
  • Establish new trading relationships with clients and suppliers to expand your portfolio.
  • Create and send out offers, follow up on leads and negotiations, and monitor and finalize pending orders.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment, and delivery terms with both new and existing partners.
  • Develop strong market insights and become a specialist in your market by mastering pricing, products, and margin optimization.
  • Work closely with the in-house Supply Chain team to ensure seamless order processing and delivery.
  • Travel regularly to meet clients and suppliers in French-speaking markets, attend trade shows, and build long-term relationships in person.


Requirements

  • Residing in or near Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
  • In possession of a valid EU work permit.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in a commercially related field.
  • 0–5 years of experience in sales, purchasing, or business development.
  • Native or near-native French speaker with fluency in English.
  • Additional languages such as Dutch or German are a strong plus.
  • Confident in cold calling and approaching new people.
  • Comfortable working with a high level of freedom and responsibility.
  • Driven, ambitious, and resilient, with a strong performance mindset.
  • Able to remain composed when facing obstacles and challenging circumstances.
  • Energized by regular travel to French-speaking countries to meet business relations, attend trade shows, and build long-term partnerships.
