Supply Chain Sourcing Specialist

Our client is a leading specialty retailer of hard surface flooring, offering the broadest in-stock selection of tile, wood, stone, related tools and flooring accessories at everyday low prices and is one of Fortune’s 100 fastest-growing companies.

Role: This position will be responsible for all sourcing & supplier compliance steps of the supply chain process in Asia for assigned categories and report to Asia Sourcing Director. This position will work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Merchandising, and Legal (Company Compliance) as well as with thier vendors and 3rd party inspection/audit firms to ensure F&D’s vendors are in compliance with the rapidly changing regulatory landscape. In addition, the position should develop strong win/win relationships with suppliers that will allow for combined efforts that will take cost and steps out of the process, thereby improving performance and profits.

 

Major Responsibilities

  • To formulate and deploy procedures governing all aspects of global sourcing (product procurement and planning, inventory management, and supplier development), supporting F&D’s global supply chain excellence, customer satisfaction, merchandising leadership, and store operating philosophy initiatives. Lead the transition to a demand-pull system by coordinating with Merchandising, Inventory and Logistics functions.
  • Maintain awareness of world markets and emerging material related issues in the industry and position the supply chain to flexibly respond accordingly.
  • Develop capacity in the supply base to support F&D’s significant growth plans, including identification of new suppliers and development of existing suppliers to increase output.
  • Monitor existing suppliers by creating and managing supplier scorecards, having regular reviews with suppliers and alerting Merchandising of non-compliance of suppliers.
  • Communicate the vision to suppliers to elicit them as partners in the new direction of global supply chain management. Develop and maintain on-going relationships with key suppliers and establish effective programs and processes of ensuring “best in class” supplier performance.
  • Execute the development, implementation and enhancement of all supplier compliance policies and procedures required to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and industry standards.
  • Follow up with vendors for quality issues and material traceability and on-site verification and resolve the problem by follow up CAPA
  • 30% travel including domestic and abroad.

 

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in business. Global purchasing, supplier compliance/quality and contract management leadership experience is a plus.
  • Possess good process experience/judgment and the ability to recognize key problems before they become major issues. Capable of recognizing opportunities that translate to bottom-line improvement.
  • A demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally within the company, as well as globally with suppliers and 3rd party firms.
  • A visionary who understands the big picture and can develop programs and processes that capture the true potential and opportunities that may exist – an “Out of the Box Thinker”.
  • Strategic thinking skills, including ability to make sound business judgments related to supply management philosophies and initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills (i.e., development and delivery of presentations).
  • Well-developed and proven negotiating skills.
  • IDEALLY this candidate is business proficient in Mandarin (Chinese)
