Job description
Our client is seeking an Area Director who will be responsible for the performance of the existing business, maximizing Operating Profit, Return on Investment, and Return on Cash from the existing base business in their area.
In addition, the Area Director will be tasked with growing the business from existing revenues to meet ambitious revenue targets for the next 24–36 months, delivering the required operating margins. The role involves owning and executing the growth plan for the area, as well as recruiting and building the necessary team to achieve these objectives.
The Area Director will coordinate and work with regional and group functional leaders to execute against set objectives and standards for the area, holding ultimate accountability for all functions within the area: Sales, Development, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and HR/Team Management.
The Area Director should continually seek innovations to improve business performance and share these with the wider group for consideration. The remuneration package includes a significant bonus potential directly tied to the successful delivery of performance and growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership

Drive consistent growth of quality revenue through development of existing and new sales channels in the area.

Provide leadership on pricing and sales volume by setting clear targets and monitoring results.

Partner with the sales/key accounts team to close new business as required.

Grow the number of leads generated through networking, broker relations, and sales activities.

Ensure effective conversion of leads into profitable sales.

Maintain a database of customers, agents, and partners.

Mentor and develop Area Sales Managers to strengthen sales capability across the company.

Collaborate with regional marketing to execute an area marketing plan driving brand awareness and enquiries.
Commercial Management

Deliver the development potential of the area.

Maximize profit potential and cash return.

Review business performance by sales area and centre, comparing results to plan and taking corrective action as needed.
Operations and Customer Service

Ensure operational processes are followed and executed effectively.

Drive high standards of centre readiness and customer service.

Manage customer issue escalations within the area.

Deliver retention and satisfaction targets.

Drive customer service income plans for the area.
Growth

Execute the area’s growth and development plan.

Develop strategies to expand the footprint using both conventional and low-risk/low-capex models (e.g., franchising/licensing).

Identify, analyze, and select potential development sites and partnerships.
Team Management

Recruit, train, manage, and develop the area team.

Ensure visible sales, operations, and development leadership.

Recommend organizational structure changes as the business evolves.

Set and communicate objectives, monitor performance, and provide feedback.

Lead team meetings and team-building activities.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
