Job description
Our client is seeking an Environmental Advisor to join one of their projects in Finland. You will work with highly experienced, culturally diverse, and passionate teams that nurture a strong social dynamic and a shared sense of achievement. In this role, you will:

Monitor and enforce compliance with Finnish environmental legislation, regulations, permits, and company environmental procedures across site operations

Obtain, manage, and track all necessary environmental permits, licenses, and approvals from local and regional authorities
-
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and environmental risk assessments, reporting on performance and identifying non-compliance issues

Develop and deliver toolbox talks and environmental awareness training to project teams and contractors

Collaborate with Construction, Safety, and Project Management teams to advise on environmental risks, constraints, and mitigation measures

Liaise with municipalities, government bodies, and third-party stakeholders on environmental matters affecting the site

Maintain accurate records of environmental incidents, complaints, inspections, and permit conditions

Lead investigations into environmental incidents, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented and tracked

Provide monthly environmental performance reports to project leadership and the Environmental Manager

Support the development and continuous improvement of project-specific Environmental Management Plans and procedures.
We would love to hear from you if you have:

A degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field

7+ years’ experience in a senior role, with a minimum of 3+ years in the construction sector

Previous experience as an Environmental Consultant, Environmental Manager, or EHS Advisor/Lead/Specialist in construction

Strong knowledge of Finnish environmental legislation and permitting processes

Experience liaising with municipalities and environmental authorities

Excellent communication skills in English (Finnish language skills are a strong advantage)
