Job description

We are looking for DevOps Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to work for an award-winning Forex company. Hybrid model of work in Athens, Greece!

  • 3 days on-site
  • 2 days remote

The Role:

  • Assist in monitoring production systems to ensure availability, reliability, and performance.
  • Learn to use observability tools (metrics, logs, traces) to identify and troubleshoot issues.
  • Support incident response activities under the guidance of senior SREs.
  • Help with on-call rotations to build real-world incident management skills.
  • Assist in automating routine operational tasks using simple scripts (Bash, Python).
  • Contribute to improving system reliability through documentation and runbooks.
  • Support infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices with tools like Terraform or Ansible in collaboration with senior engineers.
  • Participate in capacity planning, performance tuning, and basic reliability testing.
  • Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure smooth deployments and reduce production risks.
  • Continuously learn and adopt SRE principles such as error budgets, SLIs, and SLAs.

Requirements:

  • BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Up to 2 years of experience in SRE.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux system administration.
  • Understanding of system monitoring concepts (metrics, logs, alerts).
  • Familiarity with at least one scripting language (Bash, Python).
  • Awareness of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, load balancers).
  • Eagerness to learn incident management and reliability engineering practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for automation, operational excellence, and continuous learning

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Exposure to observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Graylog, Jaeger, etc.).
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration basics (Kubernetes).
  • Awareness of infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, SaltStack).
  • Basic knowledge of REST APIs for automation and integrations.
  • Exposure to microservices concepts and distributed systems.
